What is Daivonex ointment used for?
Daivonex® ointment is used only on skin affected by psoriasis. Psoriasis is a skin disorder in which skin cells are overactive. The calcipotriol in Daivonex® ointment treats the overactive skin cells. Daivonex® ointment is used in the commonest type of psoriasis, where “plaques” form in the skin.

- Apply Daivonex® cream to the psoriasis plaques only. Form a visible coating. If you accidentally get some of the cream on normal skin, wash it off.
- DO NOT use Daivonex® cream. – in skin folds, – on the genitalia, – on the scalp or. – on the face.
How long can you use calcipotriene?
Apply a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin and rub it in gently. Do not use the cream for more than 8 weeks unless your doctor has told you to. Do not cover the treated skin area unless your doctor told you to do so.

How do you use Efudix and Daivonex?
Instructions
- Cleanse the treatment area with a gentle soap. Completely dry area with a towel.
- Apply a thin layer of Efudex/Dovonex cream to your treatment area. Do NOT apply close to the eyes/eyelids/lips.
- You may apply Vaseline every 1-2 hours to keep skin protected and to speed healing.
What is the side effects of calcipotriene?
Calcipotriene may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
- itching.
- redness.
- worsening of psoriasis.
- burning.
- stinging or tingling of skin.
- dry skin.
