How long does Vetbond last?
18-24 month
Vetbond(TM) Tissue Adhesive has a 18-24 month shelf life depending on how it is stored. It is recommended to store in a cool, dry place and to maintain product at room temperature. Once opened, it is recommended to use within 2 months.

The glue will slough off by itself over the course of 5-7 days. Do not apply more than a thin layer to prevent the glue from running. Try to keep the glued area dry while the cut is healing. Surgical glue is resistant to water, but it will slough off faster if it’s being held in the shower or washing dishes.
Can people use Vetbond?
It works well and I’ve used it for closing cuts, mostly on humans and mostly myself. However, it fairly quickly dries to a hard blue rock once opened even if the cap is on snugly, so that’s $18 to fix a single cut.

How do you use Vetbond?
If possible, try to hold the sides of the cut together while applying the Vetbond (and until it dries) so that it seals the edges together without actually going down into the cut. Excellent adhestion, very fast and very flexible.
