How long is Shadyside’s Nursing Program? Shadyside offers two types of programs to fit your schedule. We offer a 16 month full-time program, as well as a part-time program.
Does UPMC require BSN?
Our graduates are eligible for the NCLEX-RN exam, and will earn a diploma in nursing upon graduation. Also, if graduates wish to further their education, they receive priority admission to the RN-BSN program at our partner universities.
Is Lutheran School of Nursing accredited?
We are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), have conditional approval from the Missouri State Board of Nursing, and authorized to operate by the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development.

With tuition reimbursement, staff members pay for classes directly to their school at the beginning of the semester and then request reimbursement of eligible out-of-pocket tuition expenses from UPMC after the completion of the term.
