Can you visit RCMP Depot?
For safety reasons, all visits to Depot are now prohibited. As a result, tours of Depot as well as viewing of Sergeant Major’s parade are suspended indefinitely.
Why is it called RCMP Depot?

How long is RCMP training at Depot?
At present, the duration of training is 22 weeks. Following successful completion of the program and engagement as a Regular Member of the RCMP, another six months of Field Coaching with an experienced trainer at an operational unit is required.
How do I train for RCMP Depot?
Before coming to Depot:

Who trains RCMP?
Horsemanship is no longer part of the cadets’ training since 1966. Depot is the only location where the RCMP trains its cadets. One of the only rare exceptions was some Mounties were trained at an Ottawa region facility in the 1950s or 1960s.
Do you get paid at Depot RCMP?
You will receive an allowance during your 26-week training. The current cadet recruitment allowance is $525/week. The RCMP also covers your room and board, uniform, training courses, insurance and travel to and from Depot.
