Why is my D300 blurry?
Regarding the exposure issue, it is primarily related to Picture Control settings. If you exposure values are the same on the D300 as they are on the D200, then you actually have more headroom in the files but it is being lost during RAW conversion or by the out of camera JPEGs.
Does the Nikon D300 have a focus motor?
The D300 has not only a built-in autofocus motor for all Nikon autofocus-lenses, but includes CPU and metering for older Nikon F-mount AI/AI-S lenses and the new generation perspective control lenses (PC-E).
How do you set autofocus on Nikon D300?
As shipped, move the front Focus Mode Selector to S, for AF-Single, point the camera at the subject, hold the shutter halfway, recompose, and shoot. This is exactly the same way Nikon’s N2020 worked — back in 1985.
How do you adjust a manual focus?
By default, most lenses do this automatically, which is known as autofocus. But you, as the photographer, can override your lens’s autofocus mechanism and adjust focusing via a ring on the lens barrel. That’s manual focusing: where you take control, twist the lens’s focus ring, and change the point of focus.
Is Nikon D300 still worth buying?
I just really like the D300. I think it is one of the best digital cameras Nikon has made. And now with PureRAW higher ISO is really no problem….With one addition the D300 is totally usable in 2021.

How do I turn on autofocus on Nikon D300s?
Hold the AF-ON button for focus. Good luck. I set the front Focus Mode Switch of my D300s to AF-S for still subjects, and AF-C for moving subjects. My D300s isn’t always fast enough to figure things out with the rear AF Sensor Mode Switch in the Big White Rectangle position.
