How do Hop cards work?
An AT HOP card is a reusable prepay smart card for travel on trains, ferries and buses around Auckland. Top up your card before travel and tag on and off an AT service to pay for your fare.
How does TriMet hop work?
TriMet’s farecard is called Hop Fastpass® (or Hop for short). To pay, just tap the green Hop reader when you board. You can tap with your phone or contactless credit card to pay the $2.50 Adult fare. Or, if you ride frequently or qualify for reduced fares, get a Hop card.

Can someone else use my hop card?
You must not allow your Registered AT HOP card to be used by another person. If your Registered AT HOP card is found in the possession of a person other than yourself, we (and the Retail Agents and Public Transport Operators) reserve the right to retain that AT HOP card.
How do you use the bus in NZ?
Stand on the footpath near the front of the designated bus stop. Many bus stops are used by more than one route, so as the bus approaches, check the route number and destination displayed on the front of the bus. Raise your arm as a signal to the driver that you want the bus to stop.
How do I put money on my Hop card?

Can you take money off a Hop card?
Cancellation and Refund: If your AT HOP card is registered on our Website (Registered AT HOP card), you may apply to cancel your AT HOP card and receive a refund of the remaining HOP Money on your AT HOP card within 14 days of your completed application being received. Only unused HOP Money can be refunded.

What is the TriMet youth fare?
Your TriMet Youth fare also lets you ride C-TRAN Local/Regional and Portland Streetcar at no additional charge. If you transfer to C-TRAN Express, you’ll be charged the difference in price.
What is a TriMet Student Pass?
The Student Pass program is a partnership between TriMet and a public school district. All enrolled high school students in a participating school district can ride TriMet for free during the school year. Students ride transit at no cost by tapping their student ID Hop card issued by the school.
