Can you do a day trip to Sequoia?
Sequoia is open 24/7/365 – so you can park and hike to General Sherman Tree or out into the Giant Forest grove to look up at the stars among the tops of the trees. Moro Rock is a great spot for stargazing, but be careful of hazards along the hike.
Can I take my dog to Sequoia National Park?
Both Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks have relatively standard national park rules regarding pets. Pets are allowed in campgrounds and picnic areas, but not on trails. They must be kept on a leash less than 6 feet in length and cannot be left tied and unattended.

Is Sequoia National Park worth visiting after the fires?
The North Grove Loop begins near the Grant Tree Trailhead and passes through a sequoia grove. Even with some park closures in place due to impacts from the KNP Complex wildfire, it’s still possible to visit sequoia groves and explore the Kings Canyon.

Do you need reservations to go to Sequoia National Park?
Visitors with an overnight reservation in the park (campground, lodging or wilderness permit holders) will not need a day use reservation.
Do you need reservations for Sequoia?
Lodging in Sequoia & Kings Canyon is available year-round in parts of the park, and summers only in others. In both cases, overnight accommodations are limited and advance reservations are highly recommended, particularly from spring to late summer.
How to get to Sequoia National Park?
If you arrive at Sequoia National Park via Three Rivers, you will start at the Foothills Visitor Center. From here, you can drive the Generals Highway through Sequoia National Park to the Big Stump entrance to Kings Canyon National Park. Of course, you can also do the drive in reverse.
