As a general rule most guinea pigs that are unwell would receive critical care every 2-4 hours. If your guinea pig doesn’t like the critical care mix you can try a different flavour or add a small amount of a safe vegetable or fruit flavoured baby food to the mixture.

Opened bags of Critical Care Herbivore can be stored sealed at room temperature for up to 30 days. Critical Care Carnivore has a very high level of fat and should be stored in the fridge and used within 7 days after opening.
Can you reuse Critical Care?
Yes, due to the physical characteristics of the hay in the Critical Care, absorption properties can differ from one batch to the next. More water can be added to reach the consistency of tomato sauce.
Can you freeze Critical Care?
Critical Care can be frozen and stored in ziplock bags for up to 6 months once mixed. To use after freezing, thaw at room temperature and add water. Dry Critical Care can also be frozen to extend shelf life by up to 6 months.
