What is a Nurgling?
Nurglings, also known as Mites of Nurgle, Little Lords (by the Death Guard), or by their daemonic name “Khan’gurani’i”, are small Daemons that are born in the entrails of the Great Unclean Ones. Just like their parent Daemon, they are shaped after Nurgle himself.
Why is nurgle called grandfather?
Despite the nature of his influence, Nurgle takes an interest in the victims of the diseases he unleashes (which he considers to be “gifts”), jovially caring for them in a manner similar to a loving grandfather; for which reason he is frequently referred to as “Grandfather Nurgle” by his servants.

Birth. Nurgling are born in the parts of rotting bowels of Great Unclean Ones where they swell with pus and contagion. As it matures inside the greater daemon it feeds on his filth until it pops outs.

Starting as small blobs of indescribably foul matter, Nurglings are nourished by the pulsating juices of a Great Unclean One’s inner organs, growing into small facsimiles of Nurgle himself until they plop into existence as spiteful, rotund imps.
