What does little labs VOG do?
The VOG plug-in is perfect for mixing, mastering, post-production sweetening, sound design, and audio restoration. Use it to easily simulate proximity effect for adding chest resonance and “heft” to vocals.
What is a UAD 2 device?
UAD-2 Satellite is a FireWire 800/400 DSP accelerator that runs the growing library of UAD Powered Plug-Ins. UAD plug-ins are widely recognized as the highest quality tools for mixing and mastering, with an emphasis on emulations of classic analog gear.
Are UAD plugins better than waves?
The argument for waves would be that you get far more plugins for the money and arguably they’re on the same level as the UAD however the CPU load is probably going to end up being quite high. UAD does have the external DSP processing (however no education discount/less frequent sales) so the CPU load is lighter.
Will UAD go native?
What we can tell you, however, is that Spark will coexist with the powered plugins range – there are no plans to make the UAD platform a completely native one, basically. So, if you want guaranteed low latency and Unison technology, an Apollo interface is still the way to go.

Is slate better than waves?
Waves has way more plugins then Slate. Both have great reputations as far as sound quality. Waves doesn’t require an ilok but Slate does. Both have excellent products.
Is the UA Apollo worth it?
Yes, the Apollo is a very nice piece of gear. Maybe not the best pre’s and maybe not the best converters but easily good enough and the UAD Plugins are simply the best on the market. Apollo’s are awesome and the plugins are great but an Apogee Duet would suffice.
