Does Day and Night Nurse help you sleep?
Day nurse capsules contain only paracetamol, pholcodine and pseudoephedrine. These are non-drowsy so help you continue with your day to day activities. Night nurse capsules contain paracetamol and dextromethorphan, together with promethazine which makes you drowsy, which can help you get a restful sleep.
Why should you not take night nurse for more than 3 days?
Don’t use Night Nurse for longer than three nights at a time without getting medical advice from your doctor or pharmacist. Never exceed the recommended dose of Night Nurse. An overdose of paracetamol is dangerous and may cause serious damage to the liver and kidneys.
Will night nurse help me sleep?
Night Nurse contains an antihistamine called Promethazine, which helps to aid sleep while decongesting and drying up runny noses for easy breathing. Night Nurse also contains Dextromethorphan which will ease your dry or tickly cough, as well as Paracetamol to relieve aches, pains, shivers, and reduce temperature.
How many day and night nurse can I take?
Take up to 3 doses of Day Nurse throughout the day, allowing at least 4 hours between doses, and then 1 dose of Night Nurse just before bedtime. Suitable for adults and children aged 16 and over. Day & Night Nurse is available from the pharmacy counter.
Are Night Nurse Capsules the same as the liquid?
Night Nurse is available in both liquid and tablet form so there is a formula available to suit every preference. The tablets are designed to be swallowed with water.
Can you take Night Nurse every night?
Do not take Night Nurse if you have already taken 4 doses (4000 mg) of a paracetamol-containing product (including this product) in any 24 hour period. If in doubt consult your doctor or pharmacist. Only take one dose of Night Nurse per night. Do not take more than the recommended dose.
Can I give Night Nurse to a child?
Night Nurse is not suitable for everyone and it should not be consumed by children under the age of 12. If you suffer from allergies, please check the ingredients thoroughly before use. If you have severe bronchitis or you suffer from asthma flair ups, you should avoid taking this product.
Are Night Nurse capsules the same as the liquid?
Do people get addicted to Night Nurse?
Night Nurse can cause some people to become addicted and therefore you should not take over the recommended dose or take for longer than 3 days. For more information on addiction go to the Side Effects section on this page.
Can you drink on Night Nurse?
Do not drink alcohol while using Night Nurse. Night Nurse contains 18% v/v ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 2.9 g per dose, equivalent to 72 ml beer, 30 ml wine per dose. This could be harmful if you suffer from alcoholism.
