Teva sandals are made to hold up to rugged outdoor adventures, provide superior traction, and dry quickly. As is true of all shoes, however, Tevas can start to smell when bacteria collect in them. Do Tevas need to be broken in?
You need more than a couple of weeks to break them and especially your feet in. I walk miles a day and I usually don’t have trouble breaking in new shoes. Why do my feet sweat in Tevas?
Sandals such as Tevas have rubbery soles, and many sandals have leather and hide-like soles. These materials do not absorb the sweat that normally exudes from the bottom of your feet. Thus, when you remove the sandals, that stagnant, built up for hours sweat evaporates into wonderful odors for you and others to enjoy.
Can I wash my Tevas in the washing machine?
We recommend using an antimicrobial soap and warm water and hand washing your sandals thoroughly. Please, do not machine wash them. To remove dirt or other build up from the grooves in the top soles or out soles, try using a soft bristled brush, such as a dish brush or old toothbrush, to gently scrub away any debris.
Are Teva sandals made in China?
Tevas are typically manufactured in Vietnam, China and El Salvador, though this can be difficult to discern by shopping online. Teva is committed to an ethical supply chain and admirable corporate responsibility policies, and some of their products use recycled polyesters and other fabrics.
