Is Microsoft Lync discontinued?

What is Lync configuration?
Use it to set up audio and video devices and to change things, like your picture and phone numbers that display with your contact information, how and when you’re alerted to new instant messages, how messages display (with or without emoticons, for example), and your status settings. Open Lync.
What is the difference between Microsoft Lync and Skype?

Can you Skype after July 2021?

Is Skype an EOL?
According to Microsoft, we have now reached Skype for Business Online end of life date: July 31, 2021. This means Skype for Business Online will no longer be officially supported by Microsoft. As such, any Microsoft partners providing Skype for Business Online solutions and add-ons will also be unsupported.
How use Lync Basic?
Open Skype for Business. If you’re using Lync Basic, you’ll see Lync Basic at the top of the Skype for Business main window. Click the Windows Start button > Control Panel > Programs and Features, and look for the Microsoft Skype for Business listing. If you’re using Lync Basic, you’ll see Microsoft Lync Basic 2013.
What Lync 2013?
Lync Basic 2013 gives you instant messaging (IM), audio and video calls, Skype for Business Meetings, availability (presence) information, and sharing capabilities all from one, easy-to-use program. It’s a slimmer version of the full Lync client that provides the same core functionality.
Where is the Lync main window?
To have the Lync main window open in front of other windows when it starts, select the Show Lync in foreground when it starts check box. If this option isn’t selected, the Lync icon appears in the Windows notification area (system tray) when Lync starts.
How much does Lync cost?
In your first year the cost of running Lync Online would be $3,155 (monthly costs + setup). The annual costs of this are only $2,760 per year – so the on-premise installation costs the same as eight years on Lync Online.
