Can you just do Gold DofE?
Can you skip Silver DofE and go straight to Gold? You can complete the Gold DofE award without having completed Silver, however it will take longer (it doesn’t make a difference if you’ve completed Bronze).
What do I need to do for Gold DofE?
For Gold, you’ll need to do your programme for at least 12 months if you’ve achieved your Silver Award, or 18 months if you’ve started at Gold level without doing your Silver – even if you’ve done Bronze.
Is DofE important for university?

Do you have to pay for DofE?
Everyone receives a DofE Card to get discounts on things like kit and expeditions don’t need to be expensive.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is widely recognised by employers and education providers as the definitive qualification for demonstrating self-reliance, commitment and dedication.
Is DofE good for university?
For those of you doing the Duke of Edinburgh Award for the purposes of university admissions, you should know that it doesn’t actually give you UCAS points. It does not serve any purpose on your UCAS form beyond the personal statement, where you are entitled to push it hard.

How long will my expedition take?
The length of your expedition will depend on if you are doing Bronze, Silver or Gold and the amount of training you require. The table below shows the minimum that is recommended for each level. Prices are per person and based on a minimum of 6 participants.
