It’s nice to see characters casually talk about religion, but a shame that the anime doesn’t make more of a point about being agnostic (or atheist). The only time religion is explicitly mentioned is when the battlefront has to go on a mission to fight Angel.

Angel Beats (2010) is a 13 episode anime about a group of teens in a “suspended” state before they move in to the afterlife. To answer the question posed in the title of this post: Yes, Angel Beats is a very good show, and it is definitely worth your time.

Overall, Angel Beats! is a good anime with some outstanding aspects to it, accompanied by departments where it could have been executed a LOT better. A longer duration could have helped a lot for Angel Beats! as it could have had more developed story and characters, but what’s done is done….Reviews.

Angel Beats! is another that often ranks highly on “most heartbreaking anime” lists, with good reason. When a show’s very setting takes place in purgatory, it’s a good bet that things will get emotional and all hearts should proceed with caution.
