How hard is Glentress black?
The Black Route or V Trail is the most technically difficult of the mountain bike routes at Glentress; at 18 miles it’s also the longest. It’s no exaggeration to say that this is world class – don’t attempt it unless you are an experienced mountain biker or have first cycled over the blue and then the red.

How long is Glentress red?
This is 600m long with a 50 metre drop – take care at the bridges. Following this there are two short sections of singletrack with brief sections on roads to get you across the Glentress Burn and on to Cardie Hill. Finally it’s a left turn to the Falla Brae singletrack dropping to the forest road just above The Hub.
Can you walk around Glentress?
There are walking routes for everyone here. At Glentress, you can take an easy stroll around ponds just near the café, follow the stories of people who lived here in prehistoric times, or take a hike into the hills for some superb views.
Is Glentress closed?
80% open as normal with one diversion: Lower half of Blue Route (below Buzzards Nest car park) is now back fully open. The Upper Blue Route (above Buzzards Nest) is open with a diversion at post 25 back along the Blue Return trail (uppermost Betty Blue loop closed due to storm damage).
Where do you park for the golfie Innerleithen?
Innerleithen – Car park as you start on the B709 Leithen Road or alternatively there is a car park at Victoria Park.. Small parking area at the gate to the forest belongs to the local Golf Club, so please don’t wind them up by parking there.
Is there an uplift at Glentress?
Glentress Family Pass Up to 16 uplifts in a day for Mums, Dads and children under 16. Both parents do not need to ride as the uplifts are per person.
