Pick up time from Onion Valley is 3 PM on the date of your arrival. Return ride departs at 8 AM – right after breakfast, which is served at 7 AM. *If you are booking a resupply package for 3 or 4 people, 2 resupply buckets are included. There is a $75 charge for each extra bucket after 2.

Does Muir Trail Ranch have showers?

The ranch’s normal guest population is up to 25 people. Our hot spring baths, restrooms, showers, laundry and dining facilities can handle that number.

Can you camp at Muir Trail Ranch?

(Remember, we’re camping in the wilderness!) Guests staying in tent cabins use nearby restrooms that are equipped similar to the log cabins. Getting to the ranch takes some work. You can drive to within 11 miles (18 km), then you cross Florence Lake and hike up the canyon.

How do thru hikers resupply?

Most hikers resupply via a mixture of buying as they go and mailing packages. You’re likely going to be mailing yourself new maps and the occasional gear item anyways. Those are good times to mail yourself food too.

Where do you get water in John Muir Trail?

Water is available at Muir Trail Ranch even if you are not staying there. This stretch will take you up and over Mather Pass. If you climb the pass during the morning, and do your descent in the hotter part of the day, you will need less water.
