The third season of The Unit started on September 25, 2007, with a hiatus, which ended in the season being cut short, occurring after the 11th episode due to 2007–08 Writers Guild of America strike.
Why was The Unit Cancelled?
Like most of the networks’ actions these days, the decision to renew or cancel came down to finances. CBS had asked for all of its shows to reduce their budgets. The Unit is actually already cheaper to produce than it looks. Shot primarily in Southern California, it costs less than $3 million per episode to produce.

We saw Bob coming home to his wife and kids, the reunited Unit (complete with Whiplash) celebrating their victory, Betty Blue (Michael Irby) and Joss getting married, Molly packing her bags and leaving, and Ryan (Robert Patrick) being promoted to brigadier general (possibly ending his command of the Unit?).
