Icarus is a 2017 American documentary film by Bryan Fogel. It chronicles Fogel’s exploration of the option of doping to win an amateur cycling race and happening upon a major international doping scandal when he asks for the help of Grigory Rodchenkov, the head of the Russian anti-doping laboratory.

Why did Rodchenkov help Fogel?
Rodchenkov told him to begin collecting his dirty urine and freeze it. Fogel was confused why Rodchenkov — who did all the drug testing for the Sochi Olympics — agreed to help Fogel dope because he was supposed to catch athletes, not enable them.

Why did Icarus fly too close to the sun?
Icarus ignores Daedalus’s instructions not to fly too close to the sun, causing the wax in his wings to melt. He tumbles out of the sky, falls into the sea, and drowns. The myth gave rise to the idiom “don’t fly too close to the sun”….Further reading.
