How do I know if MGF is VVC?
Remember that any style wheel can be fitted to any MGF – so not a fool-proof sign. Sit yourself in the drivers seat, and look at the dashboard. A VVC has a red line at 7250 rpm. A 1.8i had its red line at 6750 rpm.
Can you remap an MGF?
We can remap the ECU of all MG models including the MGF, TF, ZR, ZT and the ZS. All petrol and diesel engine MGs can benefit from an engine ECU remap as BMW left the company in a state of limbo and development was frozen. We can however optimise the ECU and even give it an update with some ECU remapping.

Where is the engine on a MG TF?
Otherwise the MG TF is pretty much as you’d expect. It comes with two seats, an engine in the middle, air conditioning and it is priced to compete with the Mazda MX-5.
Are MGF going up in value?
Values are already on the rise for the MGF. While it’s still possible to buy one for around £500, you’re likely buying into much more work than you would have five years ago.
Are MGF any good?
Like most mid-engined cars, the MGF has a sting its tail. Push it too hard in slippery conditions and it can bite back with sharp oversteer, which you have to be quick to catch. For the most part, it’s very easy to live with and makes a superb, everyday starter classic.
Are MGF reliable?
Totally reliable. MOT pass yearly no issues. Lovely drive. Only things done are new rear window and proper suspension regard which were both well worth it.
