What GPs do you use with your Nikon D800?
I use a third party di-GPS® ECO ProFessional GPS receiver on my D800 and am extremely satisfied. I chatted with a Nikon Tech rep on the Nikon Website and he, of course, recommend using only the Nikon GP-1/GP-1A. I am considering buying a D750 and am wondering if it accepts “di-ECO=GPS” because the built-in GPS on my D5300 is practically useless.
Is the Nikon D7200 GPS adapter worth it?
That being said the alternative lead with the Nikon round connector is of far better quality (unfortunately my D7200 has the rubbish rectangular socket). Not going to drop it any stars as I still believe it’s a good product. Given the staggering amount the rival GPS adapters cost (esp Nikon’s) I’d say this was good value for money.
How do you use the GPS on your D700?
I’ve used the Di-GPS brand of GPS on my D700 for years and have never had a hitch. It mounts on the hot shoe and plugs into the accessory port to embed the gps location directly into the exif data of each file. No need to import geotag locations into files or Lightroom catalogs as a post process.
