What is MOTOFOCUS? MOTOFOCUS is a battery operated hand control with an electric focus motor that attaches to the shaft of a focuser knob (or the knob itself) for precise, vibration-free focusing without the need to touch the telescope. It is great for visual and photographic use and features variable speed for coarse and fine adjustments.

Will my motofocus work on the Orion Crayford focuser?

Our MOTOFOCUS unit designed for the Orion Crayford focuser, includes a mounting bracket, miniature motor, two gears, hand unit (not shown) and power cord (not shown). The motor can be easily disengaged for manual focusing. This model will not work on the Dual-Speed version (see below).

Does JMI make motofocus units for all focusers?

NOTE: At JMI we always strive to keep up with the ever-changing focuser market. New focuser styles are constantly being developed and it’s a challenge to make MOTOFOCUS units for all of them.
