How many quail should I get?
If you decide to breed your quail, you will need at least 3 females to every male, and just like male roosters, they should be kept separate unless raised together. Even then, you should be cautious about leaving them together. Having a healthy rooster-to-hen ratio is important to keep the peace.
What is the difference between quail and Cornish hen?
Quails are a game bird and are mostly dark meat Cornish hens, which are usually young chickens of the Rock Cornish breed and can be male or female, tend to be a bit larger, closer to the 2-pound range. It may take several quails to create a dinner, but one Cornish hen could feed two or three people.
Can quail and chickens live together?
