Is Silver Lake still open?
Silver Lake is a high-elevation recreation area, it is open seasonally and dependent on weather conditions. Please include weather and road conditions in your planning. Memorial Day to Labor Day (dependent on weather conditions): 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Can you have a campfire at Silver Lake?
Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 924-5500, or the Mono Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 647-3044.
Can you boat on Silver Lake?
A number of lakes along Carson Pass offer boating. Only two – Lower Bear River Reservoir and Silver Lake – are open to all kinds of boating, including water skiing and wake boarding.
