Do you get paid to be in the Peace Corps?
Unlike other international volunteer programs, there is no charge to participate in the Peace Corps. Upon completion of two years of service, the Peace Corps provides each Volunteer with more than $10,000 (pre-tax) to help with the transition to life back home. This money is yours to use as you wish.

Technically, yes. The only requirements for being a peace corps volunteer is that you are at least 18 and a US citizen. Who funds the Peace Corps?
The Peace Corps’ annual budget is determined each year by the congressional budget and appropriations process. Funding for the Peace Corps is included in the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations bill. Generally, the Peace Corps budget is about 1 percent of the foreign operations budget.
