What is considered a high TIMI score?
The higher the TIMI score, the more likely you are to be at risk for heart problems and death. The TIMI score can range between one and seven. Scores from zero to two are low risk, three to five are intermediate risk, and scores six to seven are high risk.
What is a low risk TIMI score?
Patients with low scores (0 or 1) are at low risk of events. They may potentially be safely discharged after measurement of an early cardiac marker, for example, 6 h troponin, combined with a period of observation or management in a chest pain unit.
What is PCI NSTEMI?
In contrast to St-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), where immediate coronary revascularization by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for completely-occluded infarct-related artery is a guideline-mandated treatment, in non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) the optimal timing of …
When should I use PCI in NSTEMI?
Conclusions. In our study, for high-risk NSTE-ACS patients, PCI within 24-72 hours from symptom onset is demonstrably the optimum time for PCI. Delayed PCI over 72 hours is associated with the worst outcomes and should be avoided. For patients with low risks, routine early PCI < 24 hours after PCI is not beneficial.
Is TIMI score still used?
The thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) risk score is a tool used to predict the chances of having or dying from a heart event for people with: unstable angina, a heart condition that causes chest pain….Interpreting your TIMI risk score.
Score | Risk of heart event |
---|---|
0 to 1 | 4.7% |
2 | 8.3% |
3 | 13.2% |
4 | 19.9% |
What is a TIMI score used for?
The Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Score is used to determine the likelihood of ischemic events or mortality in patients with unstable angina or non–ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).
Does PCI improve ejection fraction?
PCI improved LV ejection fraction, and LV diastolic function in our patient’s population.
Do you stent NSTEMI?
For NSTEMI patients, coronary stenting has a more modest benefit on both survival and symptoms—effects that are most notable in high-risk patients.
