When did Karim Rashid start his studio?
Career. From 1985 until 1991, he co-founded and designed the Babel Fashion Collection and North. In 1993 Rashid opened his own private design studio in New York City. Karim’s work is featured in 20 permanent collections. His pieces are exhibited in museums worldwide, including the MoMA, Centre Pompidou, and SFMOMA.

During the teenage period, Karim Rashid started to show his affection for Art. He enjoyed drawing household items like glasses, shoes, radios. This is why he decided to apply for industrial design at the Carleton University in Ottawa. After graduating in 1982, he went to Naples to broaden his knowledge.
