How long does it take for my Clipper card to load?
If you place your order by midnight, you can usually pick it up in the next 1 to 2 days. If you are picking up your value on a bus or a Muni light-rail vehicle, allow up to 5 days. If you are setting up automatic reloading (Autoload) with a bank account, allow an additional 10 days for value to be available.
How do I change my primary Clipper card payment?
To provide payment, log in to your Clipper account and edit your Primary Payment method. Even if you plan to use a credit card that is already associated with your account, you need to re-enter your card’s security code. We will send an email to confirm that you have updated information in your account.
Can I put my Clipper card on my phone?
To use Clipper on your phone, tag your phone by holding it near a Clipper reader every time you tag on and off of transit. There’s no need to open an app. Once you hear a single beep or see a green light — that means you’ve paid your fare and are good to go.

What happens when my Clipper card expires?
If you set it up for a pass, Clipper will automatically reload a new pass on your card when the old one expires. You can only order a BART high-value discount ticket by setting it up for automatic reloading, and again, Clipper will reload the ticket you order after the balance falls below $10.
