How long are certifications valid for?
Certifications are considered expired, if they are not renewed within the three-year period. If your certification has expired, the only way to get it back again is to pass the certification exam again.
Do Azure certifications expire?
The Azure role-based certifications expire in two years. Your certification will always appear on your official Microsoft transcript, but will be listed in a separate section from your active certifications.

Why do certifications expire?
To help ensure that all certificates are using the latest security standards and in fact controlled by the current certificate owner, we expire them. New certificates are issued using the latest security standards, processes and a re-confirmation of domain control and organization identity.
WHAT IT certifications do not expire?
Most CompTIA certifications are good for three years, including CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, Cloud+, PenTest+, Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), and Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP). The remaining three certifications — CompTIA Server+, and Project+ do not expire.
Which Azure certifications do not expire?
Other Microsoft Certifications expiry MOS, MTA, MCSA, MCSD, MCSE, and MCE certifications do not expire.
Is MCP Certification still available?
The current iteration was introduced in February 2020, when Microsoft announced that it was retiring all existing Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certifications.
Does AZ 900 expire?
At time of writing, there is no expiry date on the AZ-900 certification. Other certifications such as the AZ-103/104 Azure Administrator certification need to be renewed periodically (E.g. 18 months).
How long does an A+ certification last?
three years
The policy applies only to the A+, Network+, and Security+ exams; others are not affected “at this time.” Exam certifications now carry a “valid through” date that is good for three years from the exam date. Keeping current doesn’t mean taking a complete test every three years, though.
